The British Spanish Society is a registered charity whose object is to promote friendship and understanding between the people of Britain and Spain through knowledge of each other’s customs, institutions, history and way of life. The society is this year celebrating 100 years of sharing cultural experiences and bringing people closer, empowering culture and education.
I have the wonderful experience of being a part of the British Spanish Society. I was awarded the BBVA Award in 2013 which enabled me to complete my Master of Arts at the Royal Academy of Music (University of London).
During this time Dame Denise Holt held the position of Chair (2009-2013) making her the first woman to ever do so. She is an inspiration and I am delighted to have been part of her work at the Society.
The current Chairman is Jimmy Burns Marañon, Journalist and author who is continuing the amazing work of the British Spanish Society and it is of course necessary to mention all the people who are playing a major role as supporters, sponsors Mahou San Miguel, BBVA, Telefónica, Santander , Ferrovial, Ibérica Restaurants and the very important staff who keep everything moving flawlessly.
It is my pleasure to present the links below to understand first hand from the people themselves what the society is about:
